Melpomeni (Meni) Zoka, is a 2025 Fall PhD Student in Interdisciplinary Ecology at the School of Natural Resources & Environment at the University of Florida. Her research focuses on integrating GIS, scripting, Earth Observation data, and AI to monitor and assess the risk of hazards and soil degradation. She holds a B.Sc. in Natural Resources Management & Agricultural Engineering and an M.Sc. in Agricultural Science & Engineering from the Agricultural University of Athens (2018). In 2020, she completed her second M.Sc. in Geo-information Science and Remote Sensing at Wageningen University & Research in the Netherlands. Meni is passionate about linking soil and water resources to enhance ecosystem resistance and resilience against extreme events, such as floods, while exploring holistic methods to support sustainable land and water management.
